This is a new recipe I picked up from a Lincoln Heritage Trail Cook Book on own
adventure this week and since it is Sunday am sharing it. The book has some great old recipes in it
that I’ll be making and sharing with you.

kitchen. Washington DC
According to the cook book,
Lincoln these muffins were one of his
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. soda
2 tbsp. melted butter
½ cup buttermilk
½ cup molasses
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and soda together. Add melted butter, buttermilk, molasses and egg. Stir well; pour into hot greased muffin tins. Bake at 400°
For 25 minutes. Makes a dozen.
