This is from an old 1942 recipe.
That is before I was born. I
found it in an old cook book of mine and thought I’d try it. Doesn't it look good?
3/12 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp soda
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
6 cut up 1.2 oz “Baby Ruth” candy bars
Blend flour with salt and soda in a small bowl and set aside. Gradually add
sugar to the butter in a mixing bowl; cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Blend in dry ingredients gradually; mix
thoroughly. Stir in candy pieces. Chill dough for 20 minutes for easy handling.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased
baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes
or until golden brown.
You don’t have to use a Baby Ruth but the original recipe called for the
Babe Ruth. You can use what ever your
favorite candy bar is. How about a
Butterfingers or a Heath?
Variation:
Try making your favorite brownie recipe and putting chopped candy bars
in it. You can use a box mix to make it
easy. I bet it will impress those
eating it.
Have a sweet day. Be happy and may
God bless you and yours.
